A Diversion - Especially for the Cat Lovers

Hippolyte Taine:

" J'ai beaucoup étudié les philosophes et les chats. La sagesse des chats est infiniment supérieure."

(Roughly translates as: "I have extensively studied philosophers and cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.")

An agreeable sentiment but I'm not sure that the image below supports M. Taine's hypothesis...

  1. In a country like France where everything is forbidden, I think that cats have also the right to "transgress". Sorry, don't know the English word, in French it is "transgression" - the noun, or "transgresser" - the verb.

  2. Exactly the same word in English. However I am not sure that this cat has "transgressed" - I suspect that he might be one of those very, very rare felines that is a sandwich or two short of a picnic!
